Czech Pharmaceutical SocietyThe Czech Pharmaceutical Society
is a professional and scientific association with its seat in Hradec Králové and active on the territory of the Czech Republic. The Society is an independent, voluntary, non-governmental organisation open to pharmacists and other specialists in health care
and all related fields of activity. In international co-operation and contacts, it acts as an independent society. Within the country, it is a member of the Czech Medical Association J.E.Purkyně
and abides to its organisational structure and statutes.The activities of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society
are directed by its Presidium made up of representatives of the Society elected for a 4-year period: President, Vice Presidents (2), Secretary General, and seven other members.
The main objective of the Czech Pharmaceutical Society
is to collect, develop, and promote new concepts in pharmaceutical science
and to apply them to health care. To achieve its basic objectives, activities directed at the dissemination of information of the latest results of pharmaceutical research and all other related sciences are pursued. The Society participates in educational activities
in close co-operation with research and educational institutions in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
According to the specialties of its members, The Society is currently divided into 11 professional sections
. There are sections of community pharmacists, clinical pharmacy, hospital pharmacists, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical analysis, synthetic drugs, natural drugs, biological drugs, history of pharmacy, social pharmacy and section of pharmaceutical assistants. The Society´s professional sections
hold their nationwide annual meetings and international congresses as well. The Society has its own journal “Česká a slovenská farmacie”
in which its members have an opportunity to publish scientific papers.
